just some recent pics

BBRRRR It's cold outside!!

Sunday night, we had an ice storm. Wow, it was crazy! I had no idea how bad it was going to be, here are some pics of our house, and our trees, we've got or well, had some of the most beautiful trees in the neighborhood, too bad they're demolished now :-( We lost power Monday morning, and just got it back today, Thursday around 1:00. It was cold and dark, I'm glad that's over, and pray that the rest of Tulsa gets power soon!!

Can you see our house back there behind that mess?
This is just one of the many that fell on the house...
This is from inside the golden mess in the first picture.
This isn't our house, but next door.....what a mess!

crawling?!?!

I just can't believe this!! I recorded this on Oct 16. It was her very first day of crawling, I know she didnt go far here, but she's movin now :)

the pumpkin patch

Well, we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, it gets more fun every year. The reason it took me so long to post these pics is b/c I waited on Chris to carve the pumpkin with us. Well, since he started the new job, he's never around when we're all here and able to do it. I carved it last night, on Halloween of course lol. No, we're not procrastinators.

Abigail had her first dance program. There will be a recital in May which will be much more than this. This is just to show what she's learned since August. She LOVES dance. Enjoy!

who says white girls can't dance?

Hello again Stranger!

Ok, so it's been a few days, ok maybe a few months lol. It seems like I haven't looked up in at least a month. We've been crazy busy, from the start of school for Abigail, to Madelynn almost learning to crawl, to Noah just being a boy and all that they do. Abigail started pre-k this year, there's a school at our church and she's LOVING it! She's doing really well, the teacher called today and said that she would like to try some kindergarten math with her, she said that she and one boy in her class are farther than the other children and she can tell that they're a little board w/ the curriculum right now (letters and numbers). So naturally, I said of course! Noah, he's just Noah, we've been experiementing with a little potty training, he's not too into it, but we're working on it. Madelynn, she's growing WAY too fast. She is almost crawling, she's getting there, probably in a couple of weeks she'll be all over the place. Here are some pics of the kids. I had to cheat, I forgot my camera in Tishomingo when Abigail started school, I took pics w/ my phone, but can't figure out yet how to get them from the phone to the computer, so after I go the camera back Abigail wore the same clothes she wore on the first day and we took more ;-) That's why the date on those are so late lol. Hopefully, I'll keep up a little better from now on :)

school already?

Abigail just turned 4 and I suppose it's time for pre-k. Wow, how time flies!! We went yesterday and got her shots and have been doing some serious praying and researching as far as which school to send her to or to homeschool. I've been convicted I guess and feel like I should go ahead and send her to a public school. I have to be sure of what I've taught her at home and believe that God will watch over her and me. I want to apply for Eisenhower (an immersion program) for kindergarten and from what I understand it is benificial to send them to pre-k before applying there. So, that's what we're doing. If you pray please do so for us, we need all the help we can get....our baby is going to school!!!!!!! *sobbing*

Happy Independence Day!

We live a block from a park, and every year everyone in the neighborhood takes all their fireworks down there and shoots them off. That's where we went last night. Of course Noah was terrified so bad that he just shook, so needless to say, we didn't stay long at all. Abigail has finally gotten over being scared, and Madelynn, I don't think she had a clue as to what was happening. I hope everyone had a great day and enjoyed some pretty lights :)

wow, it's been awhile

so sorry that it's taken me so long to get back...we've been a little busy, i've been doing a lot of housework lately, not that you can really tell lol.

we went to Broken Bow for Chris' 10 year class reunion...wow it really doesnt seem right for us to be having this right now lol, i certainly don't feel that old. i had a good time meeting all his friends, i was extremely proud of my hubby. friday evening, there was a party at some cabins up by the lake and chris had nothing but dr. pepper and water to drink, everyone offered but he declined. he's amazing :) what a testimony to those he used to know. anywho we took the kiddos to the lake and played for just about a minute, there were so many people there we could hardly find a place to get in the water. here's a quick pic.....hopefully it wont take so long to get back :)

Happy birthday to you...

Abigail turned 4 last week!! I cannot believe i have such a big girl, it's amazing to me how fast time goes. We did a Barbie birthday party, she's such a girlie girl, she loves dress up, barbie and the like...the cake was beautiful. Hope you enjoy the picture. I've also added an updated pic of Noah and Madelynn, they grow way too fast!!

Phew!

I'm tired....I cooked 14 meals over the last weekend. I got this crazy idea to try to do 2 weeks worth of cooking in one day, so that I wouldn't have to put so much work into it every night. I tried all new recipes too. Last night we had Caccitore Penne, and it was tasty. Tonight we're having Cool Lime Burritos. I'm anxious to see how they turned out it sounded good, so we'll see. I actually enjoyed all the cooking, I never feel like I have time to actually cook a full meal and this way, all the hard work is done and all I have to do is thaw it from the freezer and add maybe pasta or something quick.

We went to the zoo on Sunday, it was Madelynn's first trip. It's too bad she didn't have a clue lol. Noah and Abigail really enjoyed it though, we took my neice Kirstyn and she had a good time too.

Other than that there's no news here...so until next time...

Happy Mother's Day!

"...mothering gives back and it gives back more than we invest. Little children are the most loving and trusting of all creatures. Their soft little carresses and cute little sayings fill a whole heart. They bring freshness and life to everything. They give us laughter when there is great darkness, and they carry with them a little taste of heavenly light everywhere they go..."

I quoted this paragraph from this blog that I read often. It's beautiful, and so true to the way I feel. This woman is amazing, but we all know it couldn't be possible w/ out God.

I thank God daily for my children and pray that he blesses me with many more. It's amazing how children can make you feel if you just allow it. They are unbelievable. I love to watch them learn and grow, I love getting sloppy sugars from them even w/ drool. I love getting up with them at night when they need me. I love the feeling of nursing my 3 mo dd, watching "Cars" with my son and teaching Abigail how to write her name. There is no other job that would be more fulfilling than mothering my children. I would trade my life for nothing more, nothing less.

whats goin on?

Not much really. Right now we're just getting ready to start homeschooling Abigail. I'm looking for things to do with her. She's pretty smart and catches on really quick, but we'll be doing the letter of the week. www.letteroftheweek.com I'll be using this and tweaking it a bit with some of my own stuff. We'll see how it goes. Really that's about all thats happening. Better get started on those 4 baskets of laundry. :-/ YUCK!!! (it's not my favorite chore)

rain, rain go away....

My kids would love to go outside and play! It's rained solid for two days, granted we love the rain, it's my favorite weather, but I'd sure love to have a picnic. We haven't had much going on this past week, just the same ole thing. Abigail went to Tishomingo to a birthday party with her nana and cousin Kirstyn. They went to Jace's first birthday party (my nephew) and had a ball.

I just thought that I should drop a note to update, today we went and ran a few errands and now the children are sound asleep all except for Madelynn. Of course, it would be way too easy if they all slept at the same time....then I might get a nap lol (yeah right)!

dinner and a movie??

Ok so we didn't have a movie but we did have a nice dinner. Our friends, Kim, Aaron and their boys Noah and Jake came over last night for dinner. We had fried rice, salad, muffins and chocolate chip cookies. It was YUMMY. Today the kids are crazy wild they were ready for a nap before we even got up practically! Horrible. I guess they didn't get enough rest last night. I'm losing my voice, from allergies, and it's really hard to get on to someone when you can't talk. Kinda funny though b/c they do listen even though I'm only whispering. Ok i gotta go Madelynn is screaming, probably hungry, again....

incredible pizza!

We went today with the church. The kids who are in AWANA on Wed. night's got awanabucks and so it was time to use them. We had pizza and then played games...Abigail had so much fun of course she didn't want to leave. I guess we all had a good time, it's nap time now though.

time for a hair cut?

Ok, so today I went to Abigail's room to see if she wanted to go outside to play with Noah. When I walked in she was kneeling down by her bed and I saw a piece of her hair on the bed. I asked what she was doing and she scooped a pile of her hair under her and of course said, "Nothing". I made her get up and saw that she had cut the whole side of her hair off. When I asked why she did it she said, "I wanted a hair cut".

See a month or so ago we took Noah to get his first hair cut and had his picture taken and all that jazz. I guess she felt a little left out. So I cut her hair a week or so ago, just to trim the bottom. Well, I guess she wanted another one.

So I called the hair salon and they got us right in. Now I have a short haired little girl. I cannot believe she did this! It just blows me away, she's usually really good about not doing things like that. But I guess that you have to expect it at least once.

She did tell me in the van on the way home that she didn't think she would cut her own hair again. I let her know that I thought that was an excellent idea, and that I was so happy she had thought of it. LOL So here she is!

what a beautiful day!

Today was absolutly beautiful, it's too bad that I had to work. It seems like when the days are so nice I'm inside all day. Hopefully it'll be nice again on Wed. or Thur. and I'll take the kids for a picnic at the park.

Other than that there's no news.....nope none.
stay tuned....

Sunday, April 15, 2007

and it's Sunday again...

We had a good day today. The sermon was on courage, something that really made me think. Am I willing to do what God says no matter what? He preached out of Numbers 13 & 14, about when the Israelites were sent to Canaan out of the desert. I probably would have rather stayed in the desert as well, it's much easier that way you know what to expect and it's not quite so scary. Something to think about anyway.

Madelynn looked oh so very cute in her leopard print dress with her patent leather shoes. I'll have to post a pic of the two of us when I get one. They took one of us at church, so I'll post it later. She looks absolutly nothing like the other 2 you would think she didn't even belong but she's adorable!

Well, it's about bed time so I guess I'll go and get Abigail ready, and feed this baby.
Tata for now :)

rain, rain go away....

Well, it's rained here all day. I know we need it and I love it but the kids aren't so fond of the thunder. I really enjoy watching it out the window, it's just so calming and so peaceful to me, and that's something I need every now and then throughout my day.

Yesterday I had Kim's son Noah with my 3 most of the day and we had a ball!! The kids played so well together, they went outside and played in the sandbox for awhile and had a great time. She took Jake to the hospital for an mri but didn't get to do it because he was wheezing (? misp?) We went over to their house after Chris got home and we had grilled hamburgers. YUM! They were great. It makes me want a gas grill really bad. I think that tomorrow when Chris gets off work we'll go and check some out.

So today we didn't do anything really. We just sat around and watched some movies, had a great nap, the kids slept for about 3 hours. It was really nice.

We had taco's for dinner and they were yummy, I'm thinking abt going in there and making some rice crispy treats now, so if I'm going to do that I suppose I should get off here.
See you tomorrow!!

just another day...

Today my friend Kim and her youngest son Jake (11 mos) are going to the hospital. He's going to have an MRI so lets remember to lift him up today to the Lord and pray that this is nothing major. I'll have her other son Noah (2) with my three little ones, so it's a busy day!! I've got a ton of laundry to catch up, it never ceases to amaze me how laundry comes from no where or so it seems...

After Kim gets back we'll go to her house and sew some diapers, I'm hoping to get to make a new diaper bag. I got a pattern awhile back and haven't gotten to use it yet. It'll make a really cute bag and one that should hold cloth better. Then we'll fix dinner there at her house and Chris will come meet us there. We're planning for a busy but fun day. Our kids all get along really well, and play great together.

It's so nice to have a friend who goes through the same things I do that lives close to me. I thank God for sending her my way.

TaTa!!

Easter

"He rose again."

"What do you mean He rose again, from what" I asked.

"He died and then He rose again from the dead" she said

"Well, why did He die?"

"He died for our sins" she replied

"So what does that mean for us?" I asked

"It means we get to go to heaven" she said.

This is the conversation Abigail and I had at my parent's house on Easter. Isn't it amazing to hear a three year old explain what Christ did for us ssoooooo many years ago? I'm just thrilled that she's learning these things at such a tender age, my prayer is that she will keep learning and growing in Christ. After all the Bible says "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." (Proverbs 22:6)

We had such a great time this year! Noah understands the hunting thing and did a GREAT job! We had a huge community wide hunt at our church and then we did it again at my moms house that afternoon. Unfortunatly, we didn't get to color eggs at home :( this is the first year we didn't do it, but next year we will definatly make up for it!

Madelynn was born...

On February 9, 2007 at 6:31 am. If you're on myspace you've seen my post there, but I'm just going to copy and paste it to here so everyone else can read her story...There's also a picture here that we used for the announcements, so if you didn't get one then consider it done now LOL...

Well, it's official we are no longer part of the American Dream lol, we've got too many kiddos :)
Madelynn Paige was born at 37 weeks 1 day and weighed in at 8lbs 7oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. I went to the hospital w/ contractions on Thursday morning at 10:30 and stayed, they induced w/ pitocin at about 3 or so and broke my water around 5:30-6:00. She wasn't born until Friday morning at 6:31. Let me tell you, God is AMAZING. We thought at 4:00 am. that we would have to have a c-section, b/c things had stopped, not many contractions and they calmed down drastically, so I sent Chris for the kids to take to my mom's (they were w/ a babysitter who had to work that morning at 6:30) he left at 5:30 am. My contractions came back w/ a vengence at 5:40 and I called screaming at him to hurry, the dr. was on her way to deliver...of course he's flippin out now lol...
he walked in as i was pushing and had to wait in the waiting room until my mom came b/c again we had no babysitter lol...when he got back to my room i pushed twice and there she was! My epi. wore off so I of course felt everything! and OUCH that's rough!! but, as I said God is amazing in his ways, her cord had been wrapped around her neck which is probably the reason my body hadn't taken over to cause labor to progress and deliver earlier as we had hoped...

We're new to this...

I've tried to do this a dozen times and never can seem to keep up, with a blog that is...With three kids its hard to keep up with the laundry much less a journal!
Today we've gotten up and had breakfast and gone to the store for milk, then came home had lunch and now they're all asleep....SSSHHHHHH! don't say it too loud or somone will wake up!
I'm excited to show you all how the kids have grown it's amazing to me, people are quick to tell you how hard parenting is but no one seems to remember the fun they have....well, I have a ball, I'm not too sure about anyone else but I LOVE being home with my babies. I do have my days like anyone but it's a wonderful thing to get to watch your kids grow and learn.
So here goes....I'm going to start posting away!!!
Stay Tuned....
